The victim, a student from a well-known engineering college, befriended a person named Ayush on an online platform. This relationship turned sour when Ayush, claiming his bank account was blocked due to low balance, sought assistance and requested access to the victim's banking details.

Trusting Ayush's claims, the engineering student provided him with sensitive information including ATM card details, banking passwords, and even linked SIM card information. The victim proceeded to send these confidential details through a parcel as part of the fraud scheme. After receiving the parcel, Ayush reportedly confirmed receipt via messages, leveraging the victim's trust and goodwill, ultimately leading to a significant financial loss for the student.
