Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam financed a promotional trip for Ilkka Porttikivi, the Deputy Mayor of Tampere, along with covering the airfare and accommodation for Satu Vuorinen, the city’s head of international relations. This trip, attended by Tampere representatives, was part of an economic forum held in late November. The funding arrangement came to light following a public inquiry by Yle Uutiset regarding travel expenses and credit card bills of the mayor and deputy mayors during the current council term.
