108th Anniversary of Estonia's Declaration of Independence: A Grand Military Parade Expected in the Country
Estonia celebrates the 108th anniversary of its independence with a series of ceremonial events including a military parade featuring around 1,000 troops and various celebrations throughout the day.
On the morning of Estonia's independence anniversary, the day commenced with the raising of the national flag at the Tallinna Dome Fortress Tower, known as the Tallinna Toomkirik, at 7:32 AM, followed by the national anthem and a speech by the parliament speaker, Lauri Husar. These ceremonial activities set a solemn and patriotic tone for the day's events.
At 9:00 AM, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the War of Independence Memorial in Tallinn, accompanied by remarks from Prime Minister Kristjan Michal. The highlight of the celebrations will be a military parade taking place at noon in Tallinn's Freedom Square, showcasing approximately 1,000 military personnel and 37 pieces of military equipment, reflecting the strength and readiness of the Estonian Defense Forces.
In the evening, Estonia's public television will air a solemn address by President Alar Karis, followed by a concert at the Estonia concert hall where the President will host a reception.
