Arrested for Attempted Murder of a Coast Guard School Student – Denies Intent to Kill

A 19-year-old male student from the Coast Guard School was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly choking a stranger in Osaka, though he claims it was a joke and denies having any intent to kill.

On the 24th, the Osaka Prefectural Police announced the emergency arrest of a 19-year-old male student from the Coast Guard School in Maizuru, Kyoto, on charges of attempted murder. The arrest took place after he was accused of choking a 38-year-old man on the street in Suita City, Osaka, who was returning home. The student was reportedly intoxicated at the time and stated he does not recall the incident well, claiming that he was just fooling around and asserting that he had no intent to kill. His arrest occurred two days earlier, on the 22nd, around 9:20 PM, following the victim's report to a nearby police box, stating he had been choked by an unknown man.
