Slovakia pulls the plug on emergency power assistance to Ukraine

Slovakia has ceased emergency power supplies to Ukraine amid disputes over oil supply repairs.

In a recent announcement via a video on social media platform X, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico confirmed that Slovakia has halted emergency power deliveries to Ukraine. Fico made it clear that the power supply would be cut off on Monday if the damaged oil supply to Slovakia was not restored ahead of the deadline. The oil pipeline in question, Druzhba, which transports Russian oil to Slovakia and other countries, was reportedly damaged during a Russian drone strike on January 27, leading to the current energy crisis.
