Fourteen members of the Torcida fan group have admitted guilt in connection with a violent incident near Tuzla Airport.
Fourteen members of the Croatian football fan group Torcida have pleaded guilty following a violent incident that occurred on January 24 near Tuzla Airport, where they attacked supporters of Crvena Zvezda, resulting in several injuries, including a police officer. The court in Živinice accepted a plea agreement reached between the defendants' counsel and the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office. According to the agreement, the defendants received a three-month prison sentence, which will account for the time they have already spent in custody.
The incident escalated into a clash between the Torcida fan group and the Delije, supporters of Crvena Zvezda, leading to over 90 people being detained, with 14 remaining in custody for further legal proceedings. Among those detained, 11 individuals have permanent residence in Croatia, while three reside in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the regional tensions surrounding football-related violence. This case underscores the ongoing issues of fan violence in the Balkans and the need for cross-border cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
As the legal processes continue, the implications of this incident may contribute to discussions about stricter penalties for football violence and the responsibilities of fan organizations to prevent such occurrences in the future. The court verdict will be officially communicated after the relevant procedures are completed, further clarifying the legal consequences faced by the Torcida members involved.
