Elimar Nascimento Silva, a 52-year-old mediator, passed away on January 23 after being hospitalized for more than a month due to a serious motorcycle accident. Silva had been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Pronto-Socorro hospital in Rio Branco since January 8, where he suffered a traumatic brain injury in the collision. His condition worsened after he acquired pneumonia while being treated in the hospital.

The accident that led to Silva's hospitalization occurred on January 8 on Avenida Antônio da Rocha Viana in the Vila Nova neighborhood, when his motorcycle was struck by another motorcycle making an illegal turn. The other driver fled the scene without providing assistance to Silva. The news of Silva's passing was announced by the presidency of the Assembleia de Deus Church, to which he belonged, as attempts were made to contact his family for further details regarding the incident.
