A man has been arrested in Tejupá, São Paulo, on charges of assaulting a woman and attempting to kill her with a shotgun following a domestic dispute. The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, June 21, after a gathering that the couple had attended together. Reports from the Civil Police indicate that the victim has been in a long-term relationship with the suspect, and tensions escalated after the event, leading to a violent confrontation.

During the altercation, the man allegedly threatened the woman with a knife before retrieving a shotgun in an apparent attempt to carry through on his threats. Fortunately, a third party who witnessed the events intervened, allowing the woman to escape and seek help from law enforcement. Police arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and found the suspect still inside the residence, where he was apprehended in a state of arrest.
