Air ambulance coming from Ranchi to Delhi crashes, patient dies, seven people were on board

An air ambulance traveling from Ranchi to Delhi has crashed in a dense forest area, resulting in the death of a patient who was being transported for medical treatment.

An air ambulance that took off from Ranchi Airport en route to Delhi crashed in a dense forest near Karmatanda village in the Simaria police station area of Chatra district. The airport director confirmed the crash, indicating that the aircraft lost radar contact during its flight. Tragically, the patient aboard the ambulance, identified as 41-year-old Sanjay Kumar, who suffered from burn injuries, died as a result of the incident.

Reports indicate that the aircraft was carrying a total of seven individuals at the time of the crash, which included one patient, one doctor, one paramedic, two attendants (family members of the patient), a pilot-in-command, and a co-pilot. The names of the personnel onboard include Archana Kumari, Dhruv Kumar, Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta, Sachin Kumar Mishra, Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat, and Captain Savarajdeep Singh. Emergency services and local police teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site following the report of the accident.

In response to this tragic incident, the state government and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are preparing to conduct a high-level investigation to determine the cause of the crash. This event raises serious concerns regarding the safety protocols for medical air services in the region and the challenges faced in emergency medical transportation in difficult terrains, underscoring the importance of thorough investigations to prevent future occurrences.
