Man killed after ambush in Presidente Prudente carried false document, investigation points out

A man was killed in an ambush near the bus terminal in Presidente Prudente, Brazil, while carrying a false identity document, according to the police investigation.

The Civil Police of Brazil, through the Homicide Investigation Department of the Specialized Division of Criminal Investigations (Deic), has identified those involved in the recent ambush near the bus terminal in Presidente Prudente. This incident occurred on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals during a confrontation with the Military Police. The police have disclosed that the victim, initially identified as Jean Alves Silva, was later found to be a 37-year-old man from Minas Gerais, who was merely passing through the area for still unclear reasons.

During the investigation, the police revealed that the victim was in possession of a falsified document at the time of his death. Family members have been notified, and they are currently waiting for the body to be released by the Legal Medical Institute. The preliminary findings suggest that the ambush was part of a larger criminal activity, with implications indicating organized crime involvement. The police are proceeding with caution as they gather additional evidence from the crime scene to further understand the motives behind this violent incident.

In addition to the victim, the police arrested three suspects linked to the ambush; they are aged 25, 18, and another 18, all of whom are not from the Oeste Paulista region. This has raised questions about the geographic scope of criminal activities, suggesting potential cross-border criminal networks. The police continue to investigate the suspects' backgrounds and their connection to the victim as they work to provide clarity on this disturbing event.
