Vorcaro suggests testifying to the Senate via video, in SP or on a new date

Former banker Daniel Vorcaro has suggested that senators from the Senate Economic Affairs Commission conduct his testimony in São Paulo or via video due to logistical issues related to his travel restrictions.

Former banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, is scheduled to testify before the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) on Tuesday (24). However, he has proposed alternative arrangements due to the tight timeframe for organizing travel logistics to Brasília. Vorcaro is currently under restrictions due to wearing an electronic ankle monitor, which requires him to seek judicial permission for leaving São Paulo. Hence, he offered the committee the options of conducting the testimony remotely or postponing the meeting to later in the week or the beginning of the next week.

In his communications with the senators, Vorcaro has reiterated his intention to testify, stating that if the committee does not find his suggested alternatives feasible, he is prepared to travel to Brasília on the following day to fulfill his obligation at the CAE. It is crucial to note that Vorcaro has not yet formally submitted any request regarding his testimony alternatives to the committee, which is expected to make decisions only after these proposals are officially presented.

The commission does not have the authority to compel Vorcaro to testify. His situation highlights the complexities involved in legal testimonies when individuals are under judicial restrictions, as it raises questions about how testimonies can be effectively managed when traditional arrangements are hindered. The outcome of this situation may impact not only Vorcaro's legal standing but also the ongoing investigations being conducted by the Senate related to economic affairs.
