Jharkhand: Violence in civic elections, firing in Giridih, DSP injured in Bokaro

On the day of the civic elections in Jharkhand, voter turnout reached 62%, but the event was marred by violence including fights and gunfire. During the polling in Bokaro's Chas municipal area, DSP Praveen Singh sustained injuries due to a physical altercation while attempting to maintain order on polling day. He has since been hospitalized at K.M. Memorial Hospital. The Superintendent of Police arrived at the scene to manage the situation and reported that some individuals were trying to disrupt the polling process in favor of their candidates, leading to the DSP's injury. Several individuals have been detained for questioning, and the police are reviewing video footage from the incident.
