Police suspect: Teen sold thousands of narcotic drugs with his mother

A teenager in Turku, Finland, is under investigation for selling narcotic medications, and his mother is also implicated in the case.

The Southwest Finland police have completed an investigation into a case involving a teenager suspected of selling drugs in Turku. The investigation extends to the teen's mother, who is alleged to have been involved in the transactions. Specifically, she is accused of serious drug offenses for allegedly holding onto the narcotic medications obtained by her son at his request and later returning them.

The police apprehended the teenager on Christmas Day in a rental apartment in Turku, where he was reportedly selling medications classified as narcotics. The seized items included substances such as Ksalol and Rivotril tablets. Authorities confiscated thousands of narcotic medications from the apartment, indicating a significant scale of the suspected drug activity. During interrogations, the young individual disclosed that the medications were purchased from the capital region for the purpose of sale.

Initially, a larger quantity of medications was under the teenager's control, but it is suggested that a substantial portion had already been sold before the police intervention. The estimated amount of drugs involved in the investigation includes around 3,500 tablets of Subutex and 50 tablets of OxyContin, among others. This case raises concerns not only about drug distribution among minors but also highlights the involvement of family members in illegal activities, prompting wider discussions about drug abuse and trafficking in Finland.
