A 9-month-old baby girl was rescued by firefighters in Miranda, Brazil, after choking on a piece of chicken.
On the morning of Sunday, the 22nd, firefighters in Miranda, Mato Grosso do Sul, successfully rescued a nine-month-old baby who had choked on chicken. The child was brought to the fire station by two men, appearing unresponsive and showing symptoms of cyanosis, indicating a lack of oxygen. Surveillance cameras captured the dramatic moment when the adults rushed the baby into the station, prompting an immediate emergency response from the firefighters.
Upon arrival, the firefighters began performing airway clearance maneuvers, known as tapotagem. Thankfully, after two applications of this technique, the baby was able to breathe again and opened her eyes, showing signs of recovery. Following the stabilization of her condition, she was transported to the local hospital where she was handed over to medical staff for further care. As of now, there has been no update regarding her health status.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred during lunchtime preparation at home when the baby's older sibling accidentally offered her a piece of chicken that led to the choking. The family initially attempted to perform rescue maneuvers but were unsuccessful, leading them to seek immediate assistance from nearby firefighters, a decision that ultimately saved the child's life.
