EU Delays Plans for 'Made in Europe' Production
The EU has postponed plans to introduce a 'Made in Europe' production label due to significant opposition from member states and high-ranking officials.
The European Union has once again delayed presenting a proposal for a production label termed 'Made in Europe', initially expected to be introduced on Thursday, amidst strong resistance from some member states and top officials of the European Commission. The cabinet of Vice President for Prosperity and Industry Strategy, Stéphane Séjourne, expressed hope that an additional week for internal discussions would strengthen the proposal before it is finally presented. This delay marks the third time the 'Industry Acceleration Act', aimed at easing the process for companies to receive public funds by mandating that a portion of their goods, like cars and components, be produced within the EU's 27 countries, has been postponed.
