On Tuesday, the skies in Latvia will clear in some places
Weather in Latvia on Tuesday is expected to be cloudy, but there will be intermittent clear skies in some areas according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On February 24, Latvia will experience mostly cloudy weather with some areas expected to have clearer skies. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts that due to the influence of a cyclone, the night will be predominantly overcast, with snowfall expected in the central and eastern regions. Some areas in the east may see heavy snowfall, while the southern parts of the country may experience sleet and minor thawing. This creates potential hazards on the roads, making them slippery, and visibility may significantly decrease during snow showers.
In the capital city of Riga, the forecast indicates that the skies will also be cloudy with occasional snowfall. A light wind is expected, and temperatures will hover between -1 and -2 degrees Celsius during the day. Although the night temperatures could drop to between -1 and -5 degrees Celsius, the daytime will see a slight increase in temperature, ranging between +1 and -3 degrees Celsius, particularly in areas that experience some clearer skies.
Overall, while the weather will be dominated by cloud cover, the intermittent clear patches may provide some respite from the clouds. Residents are advised to remain cautious of the cold temperatures and potentially treacherous road conditions due to ongoing snowfall and slippery conditions, especially in the eastern regions of Latvia.
