Man charged for shooting at Nav office in Oslo

A man in his 30s has been charged for firing three shots from a semi-automatic pistol in the Nav office located in St. Hanshaugen, Oslo. The prosecution, initiated by the Eastern District Attorney's Office, includes charges of making threats and violations of weapons laws, in addition to possessing narcotics. The shooting occurred in the afternoon of August 8 last year, within the public area of the Nav offices while both staff and visitors were present.
According to the charges, the man fired two shots into a computer screen and one into a glass wall of a meeting room, an act meant to express his dissatisfaction and to impact Nav's services. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The man's defense attorney, Marius Dietrichson, stated that his client admits to the factual circumstances surrounding the event and expressed deep distress over the situation, offering explanations for his drastic actions.
