Emergency signals were transmitted from the ship between 15:25 and 15:32 Norwegian time, prompting a significant response from the Malta Rescue Center along with local vessels. Despite extensive search efforts, no sign of the deceased was found. Ellefsen noted that the local authorities had been searching for several days and offered their expertise regarding the bleak prospects of locating the individual, given that critical time has already elapsed.
The State Accident Investigation Commission has announced that they will be conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
