In Latvia, the average old-age pension reached 615.7 euros last year, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau. This figure marks a significant increase of 56.8% compared to the previous year, indicating a positive trend in pension growth amid economic conditions. This increase is crucial as it illustrates the government's efforts to enhance the financial security of its older population.

The data further reveals that, as of 2025, a total of 437,760 individuals were receiving old-age pensions. The majority of these pensioners, approximately 86,177 individuals, received between 500 and 600 euros monthly, which suggests that while many benefit from the pension system, there remains a substantial number of people who are in a more vulnerable financial position. Notably, a small but significant portion of 10,480 recipients had pension amounts that did not exceed 100 euros per month, highlighting the disparities within the pension landscape.

Conversely, on a more positive note, 15,178 pensioners received over 1500 euros monthly, indicating that there is a segment of the population that enjoys a significantly higher standard of living after retirement. Overall, while the growth in pensions illustrates a positive shift, it also underscores the importance of addressing the inequalities present in pension distribution, ensuring that those with low pensions are adequately supported by the system.
