Copenhagen City Hall Illuminated in Ukraine's Colors on the Four-Year Anniversary of Full-Scale Invasion
Copenhagen City Hall will be illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag to mark the four-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Tomorrow marks exactly four years since Russia initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which ignited a war between the two neighboring countries. In commemoration of this significant event, Copenhagen City Hall will be lit up in the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag to demonstrate solidarity and sympathy with Ukraine. This initiative was announced by the financial management department of the City of Copenhagen in a press release.
Copenhagen's Mayor, Sisse Marie Welling, emphasized the importance of this gesture, stating that illuminating the City Hall in blue and yellow serves to remind the Ukrainian people that they have not been forgotten and that Denmark's support remains unwavering. This annual illumination has been a tradition since the war began, reflecting Denmark's strong stance in support of Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict.
The act of lighting up public buildings in national colors has become a common practice in various countries as a means of showing support for Ukraine during its time of crisis. Copenhagen joins many other cities around the world in this visible display of solidarity, reinforcing international ties and advocating for a continued commitment to support the Ukrainian cause against aggression.
