The historic cinema "Daina" in Kaunas is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a vibrant series of events that highlight its cultural significance. Starting from March 9, the celebrations will last until Sunday, featuring a mix of free educational events and lively performances. The main highlight of this anniversary week is a live concert showcasing contemporary rock and rhythm-and-blues music, reflecting the diverse musical landscape of Lithuania today.

On the anniversary week, the programming includes performances from notable local artists such as the rock band "jautì" and the leading rhythm-and-blues creator Free Finga, alongside younger talents like Xguscia. In addition to musical offerings, the cinema will dedicate one evening to honoring Kaunas' choral singing traditions, featuring performances from esteemed choirs such as the LSMU Academic Choir "Neris" and the acclaimed children and youth's choir from A. Kačanauskas Music School. This sets the stage for a communal gathering that not only entertains but also celebrates local heritage and talent.

Furthermore, "Daina" will revive its original cinematic function on Thursday with a special screening of the historical and experimental film "The Fall of the House of Usher."
