Stavros Papastavrou, the Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, is set to travel to Washington to participate in a series of high-profile meetings that will bolster strategic energy cooperation between Greece and the USA. This visit aims to consolidate Greece's role in the emerging energy architecture and activate the Vertical Corridor, underscoring the significance of Greece in the transatlantic energy discussions.
The meetings come as a follow-up to energy agreements signed during the Transatlantic Energy Conference (P-TEC) and are intended to deepen transatlantic collaboration in liquefied natural gas (LNG). The discussions will focus on enhancing infrastructure to support energy resilience in Southeast Europe, which highlights the ongoing efforts to secure energy supplies and foster partnerships that can withstand geopolitical challenges.
On Monday, February 23, Mr. Papastavrou will keynote at the event "10 years of US-EU LNG Cooperation" organized by LNG Allies and the USLNG Association. This event will feature various European counterparts, including the EU Ambassador to the US, Jovita Neliupsiene, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in energy security and cooperation across the Atlantic.
