'Some people like Kalanemi, Rahu, and Ravana...,' Avimukteshwarananda fumed over sexual assault FIR
Avimukteshwarananda, accused in a sexual abuse case concerning Vedic students, expressed distrust in the Uttar Pradesh police investigation and called for an inquiry by a police force from a non-BJP governed state.
In Prayagraj, Avimukteshwarananda, accused in the sexual exploitation case involving Vedic scholars, vehemently denied the allegations and claimed that the investigation led by the Uttar Pradesh police is biased and aimed at discrediting him. He demanded that the case be investigated by police from a different state not governed by the BJP. Despite his cooperation in the investigation, he framed the charges against him as a malicious attempt to tarnish his image.
The Shankaracharya criticized the allegations, stating that none of the children who filed the complaints were his students or had ever participated in his camps. He suggested that this situation is a deliberate strategy to undermine the Shankaracharya institution, particularly in light of his advocacy for cow protection, which he believed was disturbing both the central and state governments. He referred to historical figures in Hindu tradition, like Kalanemi, Rahu, and Ravana, as examples of deceitful entities that have existed throughout time, suggesting that they are currently behind the conspiracy against him.
Avimukteshwarananda also pointed out the availability of CCTV footage and other evidence that could exonerate him. He indicated that while no arrest was imminent, any move towards that direction would further prove the intent to humiliate and discredit the Shankaracharya order. His statements have spurred discussions about the impact of political affiliations on legal investigations in India, especially concerning high-profile religious leaders.
