At least three killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine last night

At least three people have been killed and several injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine.

According to local authorities, at least three individuals were killed and multiple others wounded in Russian airstrikes on Ukraine during the night leading to Monday. In the Odesa region, two people died when Russian drones struck infrastructure related to industry and energy, as reported by Governor Oleg Kiper, and at least three others sustained injuries. Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, a 33-year-old man was killed in a drone attack on an industrial facility, with further reports indicating another individual was injured in the incident. This region regularly faces assaults from Russian forces.

Additionally, a rocket hit a district in Kharkiv, although the city's mayor could not provide any details regarding damages as emergency services were still responding at the scene. In light of these continued attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized on social media that the capability of air defense is currently Ukraine's greatest challenge. He has urged other countries to grant licenses to allow the production of air defense systems like the Patriot.

This latest wave of attacks has once again raised concerns over the safety and security of critical infrastructure in Ukraine as conflict continues. The situation places further pressure on Ukraine to seek enhanced military support from its allies to bolster its defense capabilities against the ongoing Russian aggression. As international tension remains high, the call for reinforcing air defense systems signals the urgent need for strategic support from global partners, to mitigate the impact of these assaults on civilian life and infrastructure.
