Chinese travelers lead Asia in airport spending, significantly outpacing their peers in luxury goods purchases.
A recent study by Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East reveals that Chinese travelers are the highest spenders at airports across Asia, outpacing competitors from India and Saudi Arabia. This spending trend is particularly notable as it demonstrates a significant recovery in the retail sector following the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The findings indicate that not only has the spending returned to pre-pandemic levels, but it has also exceeded the average spending of travelers from other Asian countries.
