Fitti debuts show that anticipates the 'trans-northeastern' tone of the album in which the singer interprets Ney Matogrosso
Fitti will premiere a show in São Paulo that features his interpretation of Ney Matogrosso's repertoire, highlighting a 'trans-northeastern' musical approach.
Fitti is set to debut his show titled "Fitti canta Ney" on February 27 at Sesc Pompeia in São Paulo. The show is a unique interpretation of the works of renowned Brazilian singer Ney Matogrosso, showcasing a blend of musical styles that Fitti describes as 'trans-northeastern.' This performance is part of a larger project that includes an album, also centered on Matogrosso’s music, which has been in the works since an initial announcement in September. The first single from this project, 'Postal de amor,' was released on November 28, 2025, and has set the stage for the album's future release throughout 2026.
The artistic direction of the project is in the hands of Marcus Preto, while the musical direction is helmed by Pupillo, known for his work as a producer and drummer. Together, they have crafted an ambitious show that will feature 18 songs, including notable tracks such as 'Bandido corazón' by Rita Lee and 'Bandolero.' Fitti's vibrant rendition not only aims to pay homage to Matogrosso but also seeks to introduce his music to a new audience by incorporating a modern twist that resonates with the contemporary Brazilian musical landscape.
As a project originating from the northeastern city of Recife, Fitti's initiative emphasizes the cultural richness and diversity of Brazilian music. The show and album are significant for highlighting the influence of northeast Brazilian culture in pop music, thus contributing to a broader understanding of regional identities in the national scene. This performance is not just a showcase of songs but a celebration of the intertwining of different cultural elements within Brazil, represented through Fitti's unique artistic vision.
