On Saturday, a boa constrictor approximately 1.5 meters long was rescued in a startling encounter at the Mãe Bonifácia Park in Cuiabá, Brazil. The snake was observed by park-goers as it slithered along the bike path, causing alarm but fortunately, no injuries occurred. The local firefighters received a call around 9 AM and responded promptly to the situation, where they found the snake near the park's entrance by the Duque de Caxias neighborhood.
Video footage captured the boa trying to cross the path while retreating from the approaching park visitors. The presence of the snake drew attention, with one onlooker expressing concern for the creature's well-being, noting the heat of the asphalt. Eventually, the fire department successfully captured the snake without harm and transported it to the Military Police Environmental Protection Battalion for its safety.
Mãe Bonifácia Park covers 77 hectares and is a popular area for outdoor activities, attracting thousands of visitors regularly. Originally a military area, it has been transformed into a recreational space, offering walking and biking trails in a natural setting.
