Section in Serra de São Vicente (MT) will be closed for rock blasting; see times

A section of Serra de São Vicente in Brazil will be closed for two hours on Monday for rock blasting as part of road maintenance work.

A stretch of Serra de São Vicente, located in Santo Antônio do Leverger, Brazil, will undergo a partial closure due to rock blasting scheduled for Monday, October 23. This closure is part of road maintenance and the establishment of an escape area aimed at improving safety and efficiency on this important route. Authorities have indicated that the closure will last approximately two hours, pending assessment by technical teams who will determine when traffic can resume.

The works will take place on the north lane of the BR-364 highway between kilometers 343 and 352, specifically during the hours of maintenance in the morning and early afternoon. During this time, teams will also focus on the upkeep and cleaning of drainage systems, pavement repairs, and the reinstallation of metal barriers along the road. Traffic will be regulated to half-lane access, allowing for one lane to remain open while the other is closed off for these maintenance activities.

Starting from 2 PM, however, traffic will be completely halted to facilitate the controlled detonation of rocks, a crucial operation to ensure the road remains safe and secure for all users. The responsible concessionaire, Nova Rota do Oeste, is managing this operation, and drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid disruptions during this timeframe.
