Is this the most unusual robot in a long time?

Droidup, a Chinese company, has introduced a new humanoid robot model named Moya, which features warmth similar to that of a human and is set to be released for sale later this year.

A Chinese company named Droidup has unveiled its new humanoid robot, Moya, which is expected to hit the market later this year. Moya stands at 165 centimeters tall and weighs 32 kilograms. What makes this robot particularly unique is its ability to maintain a temperature range of 32 to 36 degrees Celsius, allowing it to feel more lifelike to the touch compared to typical cold robots. This innovative feature is likely to enhance human-robot interactions by making the robot seem more approachable.

The advancements in Moya's design extend to its facial capabilities as well. The robot is equipped with the ability to display a variety of micro-expressions such as smiling and winking, enhancing its emotional expressiveness. According to a video shared by the Chinese publication SCMP, Moya can also portray sad or angry expressions, which could be significant for creating a more engaging and relatable experience in various environments, from caregiving to entertainment.

Additionally, Moya reportedly walks with 92% human-like efficiency, adding to its human-like presence. However, there are currently no details on whether it can recover autonomously after a fall. As the market for humanoid robots continues to grow, products like Moya may influence how society perceives and interacts with robots, pushing the boundaries of robotics technology into daily life more effectively than before.
