Zaynab Dosso has made headlines by breaking her own record in the 60 meters, clocking in at 6.99 seconds during a meeting in Torun, Poland. The reigning European champion managed to surpass her previous triumph of 7.01 seconds, which she set at the continental championships in Apeldoorn last season. This outstanding achievement ties her with the world's best performance of the year, previously set by Olympic gold medalist Julien Alfred, showcasing her remarkable talent and determination. Dosso's ability to remain focused, especially after facing three invalid starts, highlights her mental strength and competitive nature.
In this heated race, Dosso emerged victorious, defeating Luxembourg’s Patrizia van der Weken (7.01 seconds) and Britain’s Amy Hunt (7.04 seconds). Moments earlier, she had already demonstrated her prowess by dominating her heat with a time of 7.04 seconds. With her performance in Torun, Dosso has set an exciting stage for her upcoming appearances at the World Indoor Championships scheduled from March 20 to 22 in the same city. Before that, she will compete at the upcoming Absolute Championships in Ancona this weekend, which will be the final competition before the World stage.
Her consistent performance in recent competitions, including wins in Ostrava and Belgrade, positions Dosso as a serious contender at the World Championships. As fans and analysts look forward to her next races, there is significant anticipation surrounding her potential to retain her momentum and possibly contend for medals at the international level.
