A tragic incident occurred in Birigui, São Paulo, where a 3-year-old boy drowned in a pool at a leisure area on Saturday afternoon. The family was celebrating a gathering, and the child was playing in the shallow end of the pool with four other children. At some point, family members noticed the boy was missing, and upon searching the pool, they found him at the bottom and managed to pull him out. Resuscitation efforts were initiated, and the child initially vomited and began to breathe again.

Emergency services, specifically the Fire Department, were contacted and provided guidance to the family over the phone. Due to the delay in their arrival, the family made the decision to transport the child themselves to a nearby emergency room. Fortunately, the fire truck arrived almost simultaneously, and the child was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, after a few hours of medical intervention, the attending physician informed the family that the boy did not survive the incident.
