An interstate thief involved in multiple bike thefts was arrested in Saharanpur, with three stolen bikes recovered by the police.

In Saharanpur, the police from the Janakpuri police station have successfully uncovered three incidents of bike theft by arresting a notorious interstate vehicle thief. The operation, conducted under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, resulted in the recovery of three stolen motorcycles from the possession of the accused. The cases began with a complaint filed on February 6, 2026, by Rajkumar Sharma, a resident of Gopal Nagar during an exhibition, against an unknown thief.

On February 22, the police team, led by the Superintendent of Police (City) and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (City II), apprehended the accused, identified as Shoaib, son of Mursaleen, from near the Link Road. The playbook of this suspect indicates that he had been executing vehicle thefts at an interstate level and had been under police scrutiny for a long time. His modus operandi involved selling the stolen vehicles at lower prices to maximize his profits.

This arrest comes amidst ongoing police efforts to crack down on criminals in the region, and it highlights the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating vehicle theft. The recovery of the stolen bikes not only helps in potentially returning them to their rightful owners but also serves as a warning to other thieves that law enforcement is vigilant and active in combating crime in the area.
