CBI Investigation to Be Conducted into Ajit Pawar Plane Crash, CM Fadnavis Contacted Amit Shah
The Maharashtra government has sought a CBI investigation into the plane crash that claimed the life of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, following a request from the NCP to Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Maharashtra government has officially requested a CBI investigation into the plane crash that resulted in the death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar last month. CM Devendra Fadnavis announced this development during a press conference ahead of the budget session, emphasizing that the government seeks to eliminate any suspicions surrounding the incident. This decision came after a letter was received from BJP ally NCP, requesting the central agency's involvement in the probe alongside ongoing investigations by the DGCA and Maharashtra CID.
The tragic crash occurred on January 28 near Baramati in Pune district, claiming the lives of Ajit Pawar and four others. NCP leader Rohit Pawar has expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding the crash, raising questions about a possible conspiracy. He took to writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding the resignation of Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu until a thorough investigation is concluded, reflecting the seriousness of the allegations surrounding the crash.
As the investigation unfolds, CM Fadnavis has urged the public to await the official report and refrain from speculation, indicating the government's commitment to transparently address any doubts. The involvement of the CBI is significant as it suggests a higher level of scrutiny regarding the events leading up to the crash, and it may lead to broader implications for political accountability in the state.
