During routine sampling, a contagious virus known as IPN was found in fish at a farm in Malgomaj, Sweden. As a result, the farm operators, Umlax, are required to cull all the fish in the facility this spring and replace them with new stock. This situation is particularly troubling as it forces the slaughter of fish that are not yet mature enough for consumption, potentially impacting local food supply.
