In the USA, polls disapprove of Trump, it’s a record: "60% disapprove of his work"
A recent poll indicates that 60% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump's presidency, marking a record high disapproval rate during his second term.
According to a recent ABC News and Washington Post poll, 60% of Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump's performance, setting a record disapproval rate for his second term. The poll, conducted between February 12 and 17 with a sample of 2,589 adult Americans, reveals growing dissatisfaction among the public regarding several key issues facing the nation. The areas causing the most concern include inflation, tariffs, foreign relations, and immigration policies, with disapproval ratings of 65%, 64%, 62%, and 58%, respectively.
The level of disapproval has increased from 59% since last October and is up seven percentage points since the start of Trump's second term in February 2025. Conversely, his approval rating dropped from 45% to 39%. As the upcoming State of the Union address approaches, these numbers indicate significant challenges for Trump in addressing the public's concerns and retaining support.
The poll also highlights a troubling trend for Democrats, as their approval ratings have not fared much better. The discontent evident in these findings suggests a volatile political atmosphere as the country prepares for upcoming discussions on policy and governance. The implications of such widespread disapproval could affect not only Trump's ability to lead effectively but might also influence the broader political landscape leading into future elections.
