Finnair's plane damaged during landing

A Finnair plane was damaged during landing at Dallas Fort Worth Airport, leading to the cancellation of a scheduled flight to Helsinki.

A Finnair aircraft sustained damage while landing at Dallas Fort Worth Airport on Saturday. According to Finnair's communications manager, Mari Kanerva, one of the wings of the plane struck the passenger bridge while the aircraft was still in motion. This incident resulted in the cancellation of flight AY20, which was supposed to depart from Dallas to Helsinki at 16:55 local time. In response to the situation, Finnair is dispatching mechanics and spare parts to address the issue immediately.

Kanerva noted that passengers have been informed about alternative travel arrangements and accommodations due to the cancellation of the flight. She mentioned that some passengers faced delays and were rebooked on flights several days later than originally planned. Finnair has expressed its apologies for the inconvenience caused to its customers.

In such circumstances, Kanerva mentioned that damage to aircraft can occur from time to time. Finnair may also utilize other airlines to assist with travel needs, ensuring that affected customers can continue their journeys as smoothly as possible despite the disruptions caused by this incident.
