55 Minutes from Delhi to Meerut, the Fastest Semi High-Speed Train... PM Modi Will Gift 'Namo Bharat' Soon
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail and Meerut Metro, which will initiate services this evening, offering a drastically reduced travel time between the two cities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inaugurating the full stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail and the Meerut Metro today. The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' will commence operations from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut at 6 PM. This service marks India's fastest semi high-speed regional rapid train, significantly reducing travel time to less than one hour. Along with the train service, Meerut will also witness the launch of the fastest metro train service in India, also starting at 6 PM.
The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' places a strong emphasis on women's empowerment, with approximately 80 percent of the driving staff being women. To enhance commuter experience, a multi-integrated transit system has been set up at Sarai Kale Khan station, featuring smart ticket vending machines and QR code-based ticketing. This infrastructure aims to facilitate seamless transit and cater to future demand as six platforms have been constructed at the station, potentially connecting rapid rail services from Delhi to Alwar and Karnal in the future.
The 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' promises modern amenities akin to those of bullet trains, with speeds reached up to 180 kilometers per hour. The launch of this rapid rail is viewed as a significant development for connectivity in the National Capital Region and aims to bolster economical growth while establishing an efficient public transportation system.
