The fastest "Volkswagen" crossover has been spotted on the roads for the first time โ testing above the Arctic Circle
The new "Volkswagen T-Roc" is undergoing testing above the Arctic Circle and is set to launch in 2027 with a sportier R version.
The new "Volkswagen T-Roc," which will feature a sporty R version, is currently being tested above the Arctic Circle in Sweden. Photos of the vehicle have been released, showing it camouflaged but with identifiable design elements. The R version stands out with more aggressive bumpers, an aerodynamics package, a diffuser, and 20-inch wheels along with sporty interior seats.
Under the hood, the new T-Roc is expected to retain a 2.0-liter turbocharged EA888 engine, but its power is set to increase to 333 horsepower, matching that of related models like the "Volkswagen Golf R" and "CUPRA Formentor VZ." In addition, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and a sporty Akrapoviฤ exhaust system will be integrated into the vehicle, enhancing both performance and efficiency.
This development underscores Volkswagen's commitment to expanding its performance SUV lineup and indicates potential interest in the competitive market for high-performance crossovers. The T-Roc R's ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h positions it as a formidable contender in the segment, appealing to enthusiasts and those looking for dynamic driving experiences within the SUV category.
