The provinces most affected by this weather event are located in several regions of the country: the Coastal region includes Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo, Los Ríos, El Oro, Manabí, Santa Elena, and Guayas; the Amazon region is expected to see rain in Sucumbíos, Orellana, Napo, Morona Santiago, Zamora Chinchipe, and Pastaza; the Inter-Andean region includes Cotopaxi, Cañar, Azuay, Loja, Pichincha, Imbabura, and Chimborazo; while the Insular region features Isabela, Fernandina, and Santa Cruz.
