On Saturday, the Civil Defense of Mogi das Cruzes announced the interdicting of the administrative mezzanine located on the sixth floor of the Patteo Urupema Shopping center. This decision came after officials identified fissures and cracks in the masonry of the area. The interdict is intended as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of visitors to the shopping center, highlighting the importance of structural safety in public spaces.

The technical team of the shopping facility has been instructed to maintain existing support structures in place. This action shows the urgency and seriousness of addressing potential hazards in commercial buildings. Meanwhile, it was also reported that the cinema on the same floor remained closed for its own maintenance purposes, underlining the potential consequences of such safety measures on business operations in the complex.

In a statement, Patteo Urupema Shopping clarified that the restricted area is designated for administrative use only, with limited access, and noted that the concerns raised by the Civil Defense had already prompted them to take preventive action.
