The incident occurred on the night of Friday, October 20, and the suspects were apprehended early the next morning in nearby Santana do ParaΓso. The Police Military reports that the owner of the workshop was attacked shortly after a staff member left and was subjected to severe threats at gunpoint.
During the robbery, one of the assailants brandished a pistol and threatened to kill the victim, who was subsequently struck with the weapon multiple times on the head. The attackers attempted to access a safe located at the back of the workshop, believing it contained cash, but were met with resistance when the owner asserted that there was no money stored. They resorted to using tools from the workshop itself in an attempt to force open the safe.
After their failed attempt to break into the safe, the perpetrators fled the scene in the victim's car, taking some personal belongings.
