In a letter sent to Nikolai Maldenov, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, al-Sheikh stated that the office, led by Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa, will serve as a channel for coordination with Maldenov's office, and its establishment followed consultations with the United States. Al-Sheikh expressed that the PA welcomes US President Donald Trump's plan and the formation of the committee to manage the Gaza Strip. According to him, these are practical and temporary measures aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
