The Supreme Court launched online judicial auctions and now you can bid from your cell phone
Argentina's Supreme Court has introduced a new online auction system, allowing bids via mobile devices for various properties and items.
Argentina's Supreme Court has officially launched a new online auction system that allows individuals to bid on a diverse catalog ranging from apartments in Avellaneda to chalets in La Matanza, as well as an increasing number of vehicles. This system, which operates under the regulations established by Accordance 15/2025, aims to modernize the judicial process by making these auctions fully accessible to the public, thus eliminating barring factors that previously made participation more difficult.
The shift to an online platform also seeks to enhance transparency and security in the auction process. By going digital, the requirement to physically attend a bidding room is removed, helping to mitigate potential issues such as pressure from intermediaries or unethical behaviors from buyers, which have marred traditional in-person auctions. High-profile cases, such as the notorious βgypsy gangβ and the auction of a small hotel owned by former Environment Minister MarΓa Julia Alsogaray, highlight the need for a reliable system.
By providing this new service, the Supreme Court hopes to increase participation in the auctions, making it easier for anyone in Argentina to place bids without the need for travel or handling cash. This modernization not only streamlines the process but also aligns with broader efforts to reform legal procedures and broaden access to public resources, reinforcing the principles of transparency and fairness in the judicial system.
