Students will be able to test their knowledge in financial literacy at the 'European Money Quiz' competition
Latvian students in grades 7-9 are invited to participate in the European Money Quiz to enhance their financial literacy knowledge.
The Financial Industry Association (FNA) of Latvia has announced an invitation for students from grades 7 to 9 to participate in the European Money Quiz, organized by the European Banking Federation (EBF). The purpose of this competition is to strengthen young people's knowledge in financial literacy, mathematics, and cybersecurity. Registration for the contest will remain open until March 18, with the national final scheduled for March 20 at 11 AM online, using the interactive platform 'Kahoot'.
In the national final, the top four students will receive special prizes from FNA members, with the winning class sending two students and a teacher to the European final in Brussels on May 18 and 19. Uldis Cērps, chairman of the FNA, noted that the European Money Quiz is the largest competition of its kind in Europe aimed at reinforcing financial literacy among students aged 13 to 15. Last year, 2,147 students from 111 classes participated in the national final, reflecting the growing interest and importance of financial education among the youth in Latvia.
This initiative not only provides an exciting competitive platform for students but also emphasizes the crucial need for financial education in today's complex economic landscape. By engaging young people in financial matters, the FNA aims to equip them with necessary skills that are vital for their future personal and societal economic well-being.
