A 61-year-old man sustained injuries after being attacked with a machete during an altercation with his neighbor in the village of Jatobá, located in the municipality of Cantá, Northern Roraima. The incident occurred on Friday, where the victim reported that the confrontation ensued after an argument around 9 a.m. The assailant used a machete to strike the victim, leading to significant injuries.

Emergency services responded by transporting the injured man to Pronto Socorro Francisco Elesbão, a healthcare facility linked to the General Hospital of Roraima in Boa Vista. Medical personnel discovered that the elderly man had sustained cuts on his head, along with various other injuries and abrasions throughout his body. Following his initial treatment at the health post, he was subsequently transferred to the General Hospital for further care.

Law enforcement officials initiated a search for the suspect but were unable to locate him, raising concerns that he may have fled to the municipality of Caracaraí in the southern part of the state. The incident has been categorized as an attempted homicide, and the local police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this violent altercation.
