The incident occurred around 9:30 PM on Rua Serra de Santa Bárbara and left the hole open throughout the following day, causing concern among local residents. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the accident.

The local government noted that the pavement collapse occurred in an area recently worked on by Sabesp, the municipal sanitation company.
