Hannu Pikkarainen, a former Finnish ice hockey player, is set to be released on probation after serving time for a serious crime. In April of the previous year, he was sentenced to one year and nine months of unconditional imprisonment for raping a sleeping woman in Helsinki in June 2020. Pikkarainen, who knew the victim, committed the crime in her home. After six months in Vilppula open prison, he was granted a probation period that he has been spending in Kittilรค, Lapland.
In a recent update, Pikkarainen shared that he will be fully released in three weeks and plans to remain in Levi, Lapland, at least through the summer.
