Tarcísio's Government Expands Funding and Communication Actions of the Security Secretariat
Tarcísio de Freitas' administration has opened bidding for R$ 18.2 million to enhance communication in the Security Secretariat, significantly increasing funding from the previous contract of R$ 6.7 million.
With eight months until the elections, Tarcísio de Freitas' government has launched a bidding process to boost the communication efforts of the Security Secretariat, one of the most vital agencies in his administration. The published contract value is set at R$ 18.2 million for a period of 15 months, although the state argues that winning bidders usually offer discounts that could reduce expenses by up to 40%. Nonetheless, even with these deductions, the final amount would still overshadow the previous contract of R$ 6.7 million.
The state administration justifies this significant funding increase by highlighting that the new bidding process incorporates additional communication services that were not included in the previous contract, which mainly focused on press advisory. The newly published guidelines encompass a wider range of functions such as video image capture, social media content editing, media training, and digital presence mapping. This expansion reflects an adaptation to modern communication demands, emphasizing the growing importance of engaging with the public through various media outlets.
A notable focus of the contract is the production of short videos aimed at promoting the actions of the Secretariat on platforms like TikTok. As the political landscape heats up with the impending elections, the government's initiative underlines a strategy to utilize social media effectively to enhance public awareness and interaction with the security policies. This approach not only aims to increase transparency but also to foster a more informed public discourse surrounding safety and security issues in the region.
