On Saturday the air will warm up to +4 degrees
On Saturday, temperatures in Latvia are expected to rise to +4 degrees Celsius, though a thaw has not yet begun.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has forecasted an increase in temperatures across Latvia on Saturday, with expected highs reaching +4 degrees Celsius. However, it is noted that a significant thaw has yet to commence. The day will be predominantly cloudy, with a possibility of light snowfall in the Kurzeme region by the evening.
A gentle to moderate south and southwest wind will continue, with coastal areas experiencing gusts of wind reaching up to 16 meters per second. In Riga, while the weather will remain overcast, precipitation is not expected, and temperatures are projected to reach between -2 and -4 degrees Celsius, indicating a chill despite the day’s warming trend.
As the temperatures rise slightly, residents are reminded that winter conditions persist, and caution is advised, especially for those in areas prone to slippery surfaces. Local meteorological assessments emphasize the gradual transition in weather patterns, reflecting ongoing shifts in the climate during this winter season.
