He received threatening messages from Hari Boxer, an associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who demanded a ransom of 10 crores. The seriousness of the threats prompted action from the Mumbai Crime Branch, indicating the potential risks faced by high-profile individuals in the Indian entertainment industry.

In response to the threats, a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against Hari Chandra, alias Hari Boxer. The Mumbai police's actions stem from verification efforts involving the threatening voice note sent to Ranveer's manager, which was claimed to be from Hari Boxer.
